Will my service reliability change?
No. The same wires, poles and pipes deliver your energy no matter who retails it. Delivery is regulated and identical across retailers. Only the price of the energy itself changes.
Are there fees to enrol or leave?
There are no enrolment fees and variable plans have no exit penalty. If your current retailer has you under contract, check their cancellation terms before switching.
What is the Discount Advantage membership fee?
A one-time, fully refundable payment that unlocks our lowest fixed rates. It earns 5% per annum, credited to your monthly invoice, and is returned if you change plans or leave.
How do the Solar Club HI and LO rates work together?
The HI Rate (35¢/kWh) applies to power you export in the summer months; the LO Rate (5.90¢/kWh) applies to power you import. RateSwitch™ automatically puts you on the right side of the meter based on your net generation status.
What are RateSwitch™, Pre-Bill™ and RateRewind™?
RateSwitch™ leverages seasonal trends to move you between rates automatically based on your net generation. Pre-Bill™ gives you early access to your energy data before the invoice is finalized, so you can make rate decisions with confidence. What if I don't have solar yet?
You can still join Legacy on our standard rates today and move to the Solar Club the day your system is energized. Membership is open to all Alberta micro-generators.
I'm on an REA. Can I still switch?
In most cases, yes. Your Rural Electrification Association keeps delivering your power exactly as it does today; Legacy replaces only the retail energy charge. We'll confirm your REA's arrangement when we call.
Can I put multiple sites on one account?
Yes. House, shop, bins and pivots can all come across. Tell Nick how many meters you're running when he calls and he'll line them up in a single comparison.
Do I need my Site ID to sign up?
Not to get contacted. Your Site ID is printed on any electricity or natural gas bill. Keep a recent one handy for the call and Nick will pull what he needs from there.
